APNS condoles Masood Hamid’s death

KARACHI: The President of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) Hamid Haroon and Secretary General Sarmad Ali have expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the office-bearers and the executive committee over the tragic assassination of former secretary general APNS and Marketing Director, Dawn Group, Masood Hamid.
Masood Hamid served the newspaper industry for 30 years including as Director Marketing, Herald Publications. He was elected secretary general of the APNS twice, says a press release on Saturday.
The APNS office-bearers, while recognising the services of Masood Hamid, said the newspaper industry has lost a talented and young companion.
They have expressed condolences with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul. They have also prayed to Allah Almighty to give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity and patience.
Namaze Janaza of Masood Hamid will be offered today (Sunday) after Zohar prayers at Baitusalam Mosque near the Karachi Electric office, Phase 4, DHA.
