IGP orders regular inspections of vehicles after installation of trackers

Sindh Police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon on Tuesday conducted a meeting at the Central Police Office Karachi and reviewed all the issues and measures related to installation of trackers in police vehicles and fuel economy and gave further necessary instructions.

Officials said the meeting was attended by representatives of the DIG T&T, Headquarters Sindh, AIG MT, Project Director IT and private tracker company. The DIG T&T briefed the meeting about the trackers installed in police vehicles, their importance, utility and fuel savings.

The IGP directed that all district SSPs and police units will ensure inspection of every vehicle every month. Photo reports will also be sent every month by ensuring overhauling/repair of dilapidated and the parked vehicles.

He said that in case of an accident of police vehicles, a formal inquiry would be conducted, and for all such inquiries at the provincial level, a list of expert and experienced officers should be prepared and sent for review.

Later, IGP Memon presided over a meeting to further improve the quality of police training in all training centers and the colleges of the Sindh Police. The meeting was attended by the DIG Training, principals of all training centers and the colleges of the Sindh Police and other senior police officers through video link.

The DIG Training Sindh briefed the meeting in detail about the ongoing training courses, training curriculum and training modules in police training centers and informed the meeting about all the priorities and ongoing measures.

The IGP directed that in the light of the orders of the President of Pakistan, all necessary issues for the upgradation of the Second Training Center should be addressed soon and comprehensive suggestions in this regard should be kept in mind at all levels.

He said that in the last six months, the performance of Razzaqabad and Shahdadpur Police Training Centers has been very good in terms of police training, but all individual and collective measures should be made more concrete and extraordinary to continue the performance.

Moreover, the remaining training centers and institutions of the Sindh Police also need to ensure all possible steps to improve the training matters and bring them to the desired standard.

Memon announced rewards and certificates of appreciation for Commandant Razzaqabad, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Shahdadpur and Jam Nawaz Ali and Larkana Training Institutes and hoped that they would continue their efforts and initiatives to improve and integrate the quality of police training.

“I myself will make recommendations regarding the increase in the annual budget of training institutes of the Sindh government,” he said. He said that there are currently 10 training centers of Sindh Police working across Sindh and I wish that the relationship between the trainers of all the training centers and the trainees/ teachers and students should be good and strong.

He said the DIG Training should prepare comprehensive recommendations regarding upgradation of all training institutes and send necessary steps for review. In addition, all possible steps should be taken for the cultivation and complete maintenance of eco-friendly trees, plants in all the training centers of the police for the best and healthy environment.

He directed the DIG training to prepare a draft containing actionable documentation related to increasing the budget of training institutions, repair of buildings of centers, provision of facilities and training tools and send approval and verification measures from the Sindh government.
