Scores of Karachiites assembled on Monday in Orangi Town and staged a sit-in protest against prolonged water and electricity crises in the mega city.
The sit-in that demanded an immediate end to the crisis, rooted in mismanagement and corruption, was called by the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi.
The participants were carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against the government, the water board, the K-Electric and other stakeholders allegedly responsible for the crises. JI Karachi chief Munem Zafar said the JI has launched a rights movement across the country.
