Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed visited the University Reservoir on Monday to conduct a comprehensive review of the water supply situation.

Accompanying him were Chief Operating Officer (COO) KWSC Engineer Asadullah Khan, along with Zafar Palijo, Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Intekhab Ahmed Rajput, Syed Ajaz Ahmed, and other senior officials.

During the visit, the officials provided a detailed briefing to the CEO KWSC regarding the Water Trunk Main (WTM) and reservoirs located at the University Road. In response, Ahmed issued directives to the Chief Engineer WTM and Chief Engineer Water to urgently address the water supply issues in District Central.

He emphasised the need to ensure regular water supply from all bulk pumping stations, maximise utilisation of resources for uninterrupted city-wide water supply, and implement measures for equitable distribution within the water corporation system. Immediate resolution of water complaints across the city was also stressed. Furthermore, he warned of strict act against any officers or employees found negligent in ensuring uninterrupted water supply, underscoring that improving water supply and sewerage services for citizens remains a top priority for the new administration of the KWSC.

According to a spokesperson for the KWSC, the CEO was conducting a detailed inspection of all critical water corporation installations to further enhance the city’s water supply. The visit aimed to achieve significant improvements in the water supply infrastructure across Karachi.
