Doctor suspended for not tending to injured couple

PESHAWAR: The administration of Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex Nowshera has suspended the services of a medical officer, Dr Rashid Imran, for allegedly refusing to tend to an injured couple brought to the Trauma Unit by the Rescue workers without any attendant.

Someone had recorded a video of Dr Rashid Imran at the Trauma Unit who was seen and heard shouting at the rescue workers for rescuing the injured couple and bringing them there without any attendant.

In the video, that went viral on social media, the medical officer had strictly warned not to bring any injured person to the facility who had no attendant.Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan took note of the incident and ordered an investigation into the matter.

“The undersigned hereby suspended the services of Dr. Rashid Imran (Medical Officer QHAMC MTI Nowshera) deputed at the Trauma Unit due to the incident reported to the undersigned on 27-06-2024 with immediate effect and till further order. Furthermore, the decision will be revisited once the inquiry [report is ] compiled,” Dr Kamran Hakeem Khan, Hospital Director of the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex, Nowshera, stated in a notification.
