LAHORE: Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari has said that Murree is also the second home of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, following Nawaz Sharif.
Since Maryam Nawaz assumed office, she has given special attention to the development of Murree. Whether it’s tourist train infrastructure or hospitals, the chief minister is focusing on uplifting every sector in Murree.
We will soon improve the condition of cardiac laboratories in BHUs and THQs, along with other hospitals in Murree. A specialised hospital will be established in Murree soon. Additionally, Murree will soon be given the status of a district. Flats will be built and handed over to the journalists of Murree. A list of registered journalists should be sent to Lahore so that we can request the Punjab government to establish a housing society and a press club for Murree’s journalists. She expressed these views while speaking to journalists at the Murree Press Club. Azma Bokhari extended her gratitude to the office-bearers of the Murree Press Club. She emphasised that regional reporters should be paid salaries and promised to discuss this issue with media owners. The minister said, CM Maryam Nawaz will ensure that houses are built for Murree’s journalists.
Like all other districts, we will also provide an annual grant to the Murree Press Club. I will personally advocate for the Wage Board Award. She added, We will find solutions to the issues faced by regional reporters.
Murree is very close to my leader’s heart. When I visit Murree next time, I want to inaugurate a new press club. There is a need to address the issues of illegal construction and traffic in Murree. Due to traffic problems, people have to wait for many long hours. The Punjab government is introducing a Glass Train for Murree, which will significantly help mitigate traffic issues.”
