PTF suspends treasurer

KARACHI: Pakistan Tennis Federation has suspended its Treasurer over holding another position in a local cricket association. Secretary General PTF Zia-ud-Din Tufail has issued a letter to all affiliated units of PTF stating, “It is also in formed that Treasurer PTF Arif Qureshi is suspended till final notification is issued”. When contacted, Arif Qureshi said he would not comment on the issue. Meanwhile, a source told ‘The News’ that Arif has al ready resigned from the local cricket association. “The national sports pol icy does not apply to cricket, therefore, the suspension of Arif by PTF does not hold water,” said the source. It is to be noted that Pres ident PTF Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and Secretary PTF are currently in London and they have delegated powers to SEVP Suleman Junaid. “In the absence of the President and Secretary of PTF, Suleman Junaid (SEVP PTF) will perform the duties and manage the daily routine affairs of PTF till their return. He will be responsible for the smooth functioning and man agement of the Federation,” stated Secretary in the same letter to the affiliated units
