Names of seven VC candidates cleared

Intelligence agencies have cleared candidates for the post of vice chancellor at three universities of Sindh, while word is yet to be received about two candidates, according to sources.

They said Prof Rafiq Ahmad Memon, Prof Madad Ali Shah and Prof Tariq Rahim Soomro have been cleared for the Mirpurkhas University VC post. Dr Madad Ali Shah and Dr Imamuddin Khoso have been cleared for the University of Sufism & Modern Sciences, Bhit Shah, but Dr Arshad Saleem’s clearance has been stopped.

Dr Waseem Qazi and Dr Ayesha Isani have been cleared for Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur, but Prof Nabi Bakhsh Jumani has not been cleared yet. Confirmation of the VC candidates’ names for the Larkana University and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana, has not been received yet by the home department. The process of scrutiny of the VC candidates for the Metropolitan University Karachi and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari is under way.
