Terror dilemma
It seems like this country is going through the worst of times due to the devastating surge in cross border terrorism. Terrorist outfits once thought to have been crushed have taken new shape and reemerged. The issue has become a headache for the authorities. The government
has to be ready to decimate non-state actors, especially the TTP.
In this context, the recent statement by the defence minister about launching attacks inside Afghanistan to counter terrorism is not helpful. They could further strain ties with Afghanistan and create more room for third parties to exploit the situation and harm our sovereignty and security. We should instead keep the pressure on our Western neighbours to help stop the TTP from launching their cross-border attacks.
