PHF planning Hockey-5 events in all major cities
KARACHI: The PHF has decided that Hockey-5 championship would be organised in all major cities of the country, ‘The News’ learnt on Tuesday.
Hockey-5 is the shortest version of field hockey — more attractive to spectators due to its higher pace.
It is being organised to make the game popular at the grassroots level and groom youngsters for playing fast hockey.
The first national-level tournament in the format will be held in Lahore in the first week of Ramadan.
PHF is trying to organise the event in Karachi in the same month. Sources said that Hockey-5 series would also be organised in other cities of Punjab and KP later this year.
The preparation for the Hockey-5 championship in Lahore would be finalised before Ramadan, the sources in PHF said.
