Arrangements for MDCAT 2024-25 discussed

PESHAWAR: a high le4vel meeting on Saturday discussed the ongoing preparations and arrangements for the upcoming test for Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chaired by Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, the participants, including Vice-Chancellor Khyber Medical University Meritorious Prof. Dr. Ziaul Haq, Additional Chief Secretary Abid Majeed, secretaries HED, Health, representative of IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commissioners of Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan thoroughly discussed arrangements for the conduction of MDCAT 2024-25 by KMU.

ACS Abid Majeed and KMU VC Ziaul Haq presented the MDCAT 2024-25 preparations. The chief secretary praised KMU’s efforts and administrative efforts for last year’s successful MDCAT test and assured similar support for 2024-25.

It may be mentioned that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet had declared KMU as the admitting university for the session 2024-25 and onwards. The KMU will conduct a centralized MDCAT at the provincial level and make centralized admissions in all public and private sector medical/dental colleges in the province.

Last year, on the direction of the Provincial Government, the MDCAT-2023 was conducted by KMU on November 26th, 2023. With the support of KP government, the KMU conducted a fair and transparent MDCAT test and merit-based centralized admission in both public and private sector medical and dental colleges, to the satisfaction of students, government, PMDC, courts, and the community at large.
