Fawad moves petition seeking removal of name from ECL
IHC CJ Aamir Farooq remarks, "I am giving permission to all to go abroad."
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed representative of Ministry of Interior to appear in person on the petition filed by former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry seeking removal of his name from Exit Control list (ECL) besides adjourning the hearing of the case till July 09.
Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamir Farooq remarked I am giving permission to all to go abroad. It is summer season and every one is going abroad. Government has also placed names in ECL on whole sale basis.
The CJ IHC while addressing Fawad’s counsel asked if the name of his client is on Exit Control List or the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL). The case was simple but you have complicated it. You have challenged PNIL law too.
Notice will have to be issued to Attorney General when law is challenged. While addressing Deputy Attorney General (DAG), the CJ IHC remarked I don’t know which lists have been prepared. Fawad Chaudhry has to go for three or four weeks and he will return.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till July 09.
