Islamabad:The Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Rawalpindi conducted a crackdown on a human trafficking mafia, resulting in the arrest of an agent and the recovery of illegal travel documents from a recruiting agency. The FIA spokesman stated that Awais Nazir, an alleged human trafficker involved in visa fraud, was apprehended at an Overseas Employment Agency on Murree Road, Rawalpindi. The accused had deceived a citizen by promising employment in Bahrain in exchange for over Rs6.3 lakh but failed to fulfil the promise and went into hiding.

In a separate incident, FIA Interpol arrested Imran Ali, a fugitive from Oman who had been wanted by law enforcement agencies for serious crimes, including murder, for the past 7 years. The accused was brought to Islamabad Airport by the Interpol. Imran Ali had fled abroad after committing a murder in 2017 and was wanted by the Punjab Police. With the assistance of Interpol Islamabad and Muscat, FIA Interpol issued a Red Notice for his arrest and successfully handed him over to the Punjab Police.
