This refers to the letter ‘Uprooting extremism’ (July 4, 2024) by Muhammad Shahjahan Memon. The issues the writer raises surrounding the latest anti-terror operation are valid. We should question the long-term impact of such operations and whether they are addressing the root causes of terrorism.
However, stopping the sudden rise in terrorist attacks has to be the foremost priority. If we do not focus on this issue immediately, it will have disastrous consequences for the country. The country must put its safety first.
