PPP observes July 5 as black day
PESHAWAR: Like other parts of the country, the activists of Pakistan People’s Party observed July 5 as black day in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
In Peshawar, Quran Khwani was organized to pay homage to the party founder.The event was organized by the party’s senior vice-president and member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Neelofar Babar and general secretary of the women’s wing Shazia Tehmas.
The participants prayed for the eternal peace of the soul of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the prosperity of democracy in the country. Seminars and rallies were organized in connection with the day in Mansehra, Mardan, Dir and other districts of the province.The PPP elected government was sent packing by General Ziaul Haq on July 5, 1977 who imposed martial law in the country.
