ISLAMABAD: Khawar Manika has approached the Islamabad High Court to challenge restrictions that require a decision within one month on the appeal pleas of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the Iddat case.
Manika filed a petition with the IHC on Thursday, attaching a copy of the decision. In the petition, he requests that the court lift the restriction on deciding on the appeal pleas within one month.
In the petition, Manika argues that the Sessions Court appears to be under pressure due to the IHC's directive to decide on the appeal pleas within a month.
He urges the court to withdraw the order restricting the timeframe for deciding on appeal pleas.
Earlier on June 13, the IHC had ordered the decision on the appeal in the Nikah during the Iddat case to be made within a month, also instructing the Sessions Court to decide within 10 days on the petition seeking suspension of conviction.
