Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed held a meeting with a religious scholar of the Jafaria Alliance, Syed Shabbir Raza, at the MD Secretariat in Karsaz on Thursday.

The water corporation is committed to ensuring comprehensive arrangements for Muharram this year, just like in previous years. Effective measures would be taken to ensure clean water supply and proper drainage, especially around mosques, imambargahs, mourning assembly areas, and procession routes before the start of Muharram.

The meeting was also attended by the chief operating officer of the water corporation, Engineer Asadullah Khan, along with coordinators from all districts of the Jafaria Alliance. The CEO of the KWSC assured the leaders of immediate solutions to all complaints and issued on-the-spot orders to officers to resolve these problems promptly. He directed that effective measures be taken to ensure a proper water supply and drainage in the city, especially around mosques, imambargahs, mourning assembly areas, and procession routes.

He also instructed that all open manholes be covered with slabs and covers to prevent sewage overflow. Additionally, water leakage on main roads and public places should be fixed, and procession routes should be kept thoroughly clean to avoid any inconvenience to the public and mourners.

He added that providing better water supply and drainage facilities to the citizens is a top priority for the corporation. The leaders of the Jafaria Alliance thanked the CEO for his strong support during the meeting.
