PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has adjourned the hearing in multiple petitions filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur against the Election Commission of Pakistan notices over alleged electoral malpractice in the February 8 elections.

The adjournment came at the request of the Election Commission’s lawyer. The two-member bench, comprising Justice S.M. Attique Shah and Justice Muhammad Ijaz Khan, heard the petitions. Advocate Alam Khan Adeenzai represented the chief minister in court.

The petitions challenged the Election Commission’s notices accusing the chief minister of electoral malpractice, including forcibly casting votes at several polling stations during the February 8 elections.

During the hearing, the court was informed that the Election Commission’s lawyer, Sikandar Bashir Mohmand, had requested an adjournment. The court granted the request, stating that all parties would be heard in the next proceeding. The court then adjourned the case, stating that a decision would be made after hearing all arguments.
