ISLAMABAD: An audit of datasets of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) shows that the Form-45s of Lahore’s 20 provincial and one national assembly constituency are missing from the ECP website, says a press release issued by a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
An audit of datasets, conducted by the PATTAN-Coaltion38, shows that February 8 election results of some constituencies were highly likely to have been announced without having a single Form-45. Instead, the NGO stated, the ECP had uploaded Form-46s of these constituencies twice on its website — once under the title ‘Form-46’ and then under the ‘Form-45’ title. Both folders were available on the Google-Drive of the ECP at the time of the release of the audit to media, the NGO added. The press statement says that in the case of NA-125, most likely the ECP had declared winner and runner-up without receiving Form-45s from the Presiding Officers of all the polling stations, or they might have been replaced or destroyed as they didn’t produce the ‘positive results’. The ECP’s comment was not immediately available. A source, however, told The News the commission may respond to the “so-called audit” after its perusal.
