LAHORE: The ruling group of Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) has expressed its reservations on making flour mills as agents for collection of withholding tax on the sale of wheat products.

All participants in the executive committee meeting, held on Wednesday in the office of Flour Mills Association, agreed that mills could not act as the agents to collect the withholding tax.

The members unanimously passed a resolution, stating that all office-bearers and members of the executive committee would call a meeting of flour mill owners in their respective districts and give their opinion about the future plan of action. The flour body would evolve the future line of action on July 6, 2024 in the meeting of the general body.
