Court summons IO in May 9 riots case

PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday summoned the investigation officer to record his statement in a case pertaining to the May 9 riots.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Iqbal Khan held the proceedings during which four prosecution witnesses appeared before the court to record their statements.According to the prosecution, provincial Minister Meena Khan, MNAs Sher Ali and Asif Khan, MPA Fazal Ilahi and 115 other accused, including former ministers Taimur Jhagra and Kamran Bangash, were nominated in the first information report.They were nominated in the case for damaging government property in Peshawar on May 9 during a protest against the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.
