Imran’s arrest internal matter of Pakistan: Tarar
He said PTI founder had all rights as per Constitution and law and international norms and was in jail as a convicted prisoner
By ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, while responding to a report of the UN Working Group, has termed the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan and pending cases against him as an internal matter of Pakistan.
“As a sovereign state, Pakistan is governed by the Constitution and its courts enforce the Constitution and law and take decisions accordingly,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the PTI founder had all the rights as per the Constitution and law and international norms and was in jail as a convicted prisoner. The relief given to Imran in many cases is manifestation of fair trial of his cases by the judiciary.
Meanwhile, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader MNA Awn Chaudhry on Tuesday claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had conspired against Pakistan and democracy.
Speaking here at a news conference, the former aide of the PTI founder chairman Imran Khan vowed to make public each and every penny and account received in dollars to run an organised campaign against Pakistan and the armed forces.
He said the PTI people went to London in 2016 and hired the services of a PR firm, which was introduced by Zulfi Bukhari. He pointed out that it was he who wrote a letter against Pakistan to the UN Working Group, which is a semi-government group.
The PR firm, he explained, was told to present a sportsperson as a national leader, adding that these people campaigned against Pakistan and the armed forces. He urged the PTI people, who are conscious and patriotic, to expose such elements that work against the country while sitting abroad.
“We know who is giving money to people sitting in London; there is a money trail.” He said a proper firm was hired for lobbying in the United States and referred to the firms hired in Dubai and promised to reveal details of their firm in Qatar. He alleged that PTI’s aim was to spread chaos in the country, start a fire in the country and writing a letter to the UN Working Group was a part of it.
Awn, without mentioning the name of Zulfi Bukhari, threw up a challenge to him, saying: “If you want to save your leader, come to Pakistan. Why did you run away to London?”
Without naming anyone again, he said: “From where did you get the expenses to hire a PR firm? Who runs this campaign and where does the money come from? From where you are getting money? You have launched a heinous campaign against the armed forces of Pakistan.”
