ECP asks political parties to submit statement of accounts
According to the Act a political party should submit with the ECP within 60 days from the closure of a financial year
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday reminded all the heads of political parties that they are required to file with the commission their consolidated statement of accounts on Form-D for financial year, 2023-24 on or before August 29, 2024.
It explained that it was mandatory of the parties’ heads under Elections Act 2017.
According to the Act a political party should submit with the ECP within 60 days from the closure of a financial year, a consolidated statement of its accounts audited by a chartered accountant on Form-D, containing annual income and expenses, sources of its funds, and assets and liabilities.
The statement should accompany by report of a chartered accountant and a certificate signed by an office-bearer authorised by the political party head.
