UET exhibition showcases 36 projects

PESHAWAR: The Final Year Projects Exhibition 2024 of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar has concluded after showcasing 36 projects.

UET Peshawar Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Ali inaugurated the exhibition. Later, the VC, the chairman and faculty members visited the projects. Dr Qaisar Ali urged collaboration among academia, industry and government.

“We need to focus on the commercialization of these projects for the benefit of society”, he added.Prof Dr Hamidullah, the chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, appreciated the industries for participation in the exhibition.

Prof Dr Rizwan Gul urged the students to focus on their future and get higher studies. Dr Naveed Ahmad briefed the participants about the Building Energy Research Center and training provided by them. The first prize was won by the students for the project “Design and Implementation of multi-mode wheelchair interface for quadriplegic patients” supervised by Dr. Feroz Shah.

The second prize was won by the project “Hybrid Car of 200cc IC Engine and Electric Motor” supervised by Engr. Adnan Rasheed.The third prize was won by the project “Mind-Controlled Bionic Arm” supervised by Engr. Nadeem Ur Rehman.

The project exhibition declared special awards including best Mechanical Design which was awarded to the group for “Design, Fabrication and Testing of Hybrid Multi-Mode Water Wheeler” supervised by Dr. Naveed Ullah.The best research award was conferred on the students who developed “Numerical and Geometric Optimization of MCHS”, supervised by Dr Kareem Akhtar.
