Three cops injured as suspects attack bailiff

LAHORE:Three policemen were injured after a bailiff team was attacked from inside a house in the Mustafa Town area. Reportedly, a bailiff team was visiting a house in C block of Mustafa Town. The suspects from inside the building resorted to firing.

As a result, three persons, a head constable and two bailiff team members received bullet injuries. They were shifted to hospital. The victims were identified as Head constable Tariq, Pervaiz and Rizwan. DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and sought report from the field officers.

Couple found dead

An elderly couple was found dead under suspicious circumstances in South Cantonment house. The victims were living alone in a house. Their bodies were recovered on the day of the incident. The victim lady was found dead in a bedroom and the other victim in the other room on floor. On information, a police team reached the spot on information and removed the bodies to morgue. The victims were identified as 80-year-old Imtiaz and Maimoona.

Biker hit to death

A motorcyclist died in a road accident in the Raiwind area. The victim was riding a bike and going somewhere. As he reached Raiwind Road, a loader rickshaw hit the two wheeler. The victim identified as Anees received serious injuries, fell down and died.

Valuables burnt

Valuables reduced to ashes in an incident of fire in a chemical shop on Ravi Road. Reportedly, the fire broke out in a chemical shop situated at Kasurpura stop. As the premises carried highly inflammable material, it turned into a huge fire. Fire-fighters reached the spot on information and extinguished the fire. No loss of life or injury was reported.

9 die in accidents

Around nine people died, whereas 1,290 were injured in 1,233 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 554 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 736 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Stolen car recovered

A citizen from the Sabzazar area reported the theft of his vehicle to the 15 Emergency Helpline. Meanwhile, a report of an abandoned vehicle was also received from Nishtar Colony. The Lost and Found Centre compared both reports and confirmed the vehicle's identity. Upon matching the information, the vehicle was returned to its owner through the police.
