ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sunday announced its full support to Monday’s protest by the business community, asking the office-bearers and workers to actively participate in the protest at the country level.
“Mandate-thief government has approved the worst and cruelest budget in the history by rubber stamp and unrepresentative House,” alleged the PTI spokesperson in a statement issued here. He charged that after the economic massacre of farmers, the protest of traders is an indictment against this unelected and unrepresentative government.
The people, he emphasised, should prepare for a nationwide peaceful protest for the departure of the government that has been ruled by stealing the mandate under the umbrella of lawlessness.
“The elected and legitimate government of the people will take the burden of protecting their economic interests and will adopt effective strategies to put the economy on the path of development and prosperity,” said the spokesperson. The budget of the mandate-thief government, he claimed, is a death warrant for the economy of all sectors of life, including the people, farmers and traders, and a recipe for the complete destruction of the ruined economy.
He regretted that after the unaffordable electricity bills, as a result of the budget, the serious reduction in income and purchasing power will kill the people and hunger and poverty will dance in the government shelter. The spokesperson maintained that his party has been opposing the government’s efforts to loot the people’s pockets through the unelected House by robbing the mandate.
