HANGU: Security forces on Thursday killed 10 militants in a clash in the Sheikhan area in the central parts of Orakzai Agency, official sources claimed.
The sources said the clash occurred in Sheikhan during a search operation by security forces early in the day. “Six militants have also been arrested and 12 of their hideouts destroyed during the operation,” an official said.
The sources said that a huge cache of arms and ammunition had also been recovered. The sources said the operation, which had been launched after the killing of four soldiers in the Oat Mela area, was still in progress.
The sources said the ground operation was launched in the area after two days of aerial strikes by the military in which 17 militants were killed and five of their hideouts were destroyed.
