Cop injured in Peshawar firing

PESHAWAR: A policeman was wounded when armed rivals opened fire on an accused who was being taken to a local court.

An official said constable Iqbal Hussain was hit on his head with a bullet when he along with other cops was taking an accused Umair to court in a taxicab.The attacker identified as Fida Hussain managed his escape. He was the rival of accused Umair who was in custody of the cops. The wounded cop was taken to hospital where his condition was declared out of danger. An official said a search operation had been launched to arrest the accused.
