Rawalpindi:Representatives of Rawalpindi Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets and Bakers Association stated that the business community is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, says a press release.

Therefore, in order to remove the obstacles hindering our business, they urged for the availability of LPG gas in the market at OGRA rates due to the closure of Sui gas. They also requested for a relaxation in the tax policies for the food sector. In addition, they emphasized the need for a simplified process for obtaining green meters for solar system installers.

In their joint statement, President of Rawalpindi Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets and Bakers Association Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, Chairman Mumtaz Ahmed, and Patron-in-Chief Muhammad Naeem expressed their concern over the intensifying shortage of Sui gas, with barely one hour of supply per day. They also highlighted the scarcity of LPG gas due to levies, leading to arbitrary prices in the black market. They urged the OGRA authorities and the government to take immediate action on these issues and ensure an abundant supply of LPG gas at the OGRA-fixed rates in case of Sui gas shortages.

President of the association, Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, emphasized the serious problems faced by the food sector and requested clarity on the tax policies to facilitate traders. He also highlighted the affordability challenges due to the increased electricity prices, urging the government to address the issue.

Furthermore, President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry highlighted the unavailability of green meters for solar system installers and requested the government to streamline the process for obtaining green meters, making them easily accessible.
