There is a common perception that our governmental organizations neither perform their functions diligently nor discharge their duties efficiently and effectively. The people have a pile of complaints and grievances about their poor and sluggish performance. However, exceptions always exist everywhere and I have found the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to be one.
I recently had a dispute with a car insurance company and the company was not in the mood to even listen to me. I therefore lodged a complaint against that company to the Small Disputes Resolution Committee (SDRC) of the SECP. The committee accepted my complaint and started its investigation proficiently. Ultimately the issue was amicably resolved to the best satisfaction of both parties. I would like to record my gratitude for the best performance of the SECP.
