KARACHI: The Made in Pakistan Exhibition in Tashkent enters its last day today. The three-day-long exhibition started on June 28.

Organized by the Ministry of Commerce; the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan; and the Embassy of Pakistan in Tashkent with the cooperation of the government of Uzbekistan, the first-ever ‘Made in Pakistan’ exhibition is an initiative under Pakistan’s regional connectivity policy to bring business owners from Pakistan and Uzbekistan under one roof, according to a press release by the Ministry of Commerce.

The government wants businesses of the two countries to explore ways to enhance trade and establish long-lasting partnerships.

More than 80 Pakistani companies from diverse sectors are displaying their products in the exhibition and approximately 750 B2B meetings have been held with local businesses over the last two days.

Visitors expressed interest in Pakistani products and were impressed with the diverse range and quality being offered by Pakistani businesses.

Government representatives from Pakistan and Uzbekistan also held fruitful discussions for trade promotion and closer economic ties between the two countries.

The event was inaugurated on Friday by Deputy Minister of Industry, Investment and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gulamov Shokhrukh Khasanovich along with Ambassador of Pakistan Ahmed Farooq; Federal Secretary Commerce Ahsan Ali Mangi; and CEO of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Muhammad Zubair Motiwala.
