LAHORE:The Department of Parasitology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged a two-day training workshop on 'Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Data Analysis' at Genomics Centre of UVAS which concluded on Friday. UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Younus presided over the concluding session of the workshop and distributed certificates among the participants while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, organiser of the workshop Prof Dr Imran Rashid and number of participants were present. Prof Dr Haroon Akbar, Dr Amna Bajwa, Ms Saeeda Fatima and Dr Asadullah Abid were the resource persons of the workshop.
Various aspects were discussed during the workshop related to introduction to NGS technology and its applications, experimental design and several modern approaches to handling NGS data etc. Later, Vice Chancellor Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS) Bahawalpur Prof Dr Muhammad Mazhar Ayaz visited UVAS Lahore and called on UVAS Vice-Chancellor.
