Sohail, Huzaifa, Abdullah, Hamza reach finals

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Sohail Adnan, Huzaifa Shahid, Abdullah Nawaz, and Hamza Khan reached the finals in the 31st Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship in Islamabad on Friday.

In the semifinals of the under-19 category, top seed Hamza smashed 19th seed M Ammad 11-6, 11-5, 11-0 and third seed Harith Danial from Malaysia overpowered second seed Jooyoung Na from Korea 11-9, 6-11, 11-6, 12-10. In the semifinals of under-17 category, top seed Abdullah thrashed third seed Altamis Aqhar from Malaysia 11-4, 14-12, 11-6 and second seed Nikhileswar Moganasundharam from Malaysia beat 14th seed Azan Ali 11-6, 11-6, 11-8.

In the semifinals of under-15 category, top seed M Raziq from Malaysia defeated unseeded Abdullah Zaman 11-7, 11-8, 11-6 and second seed Shiven Agarwal from India won against fourth seed Noman Khan 5-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-0. In the semifinals of the under-13 category, fourth seed Sohail defeated fifth seed M Ifwat from Malaysia 11-8, 11-6, 11-2 and sixth seed Huzaifa beat 12th seed Julius Tan from Malaysia 11-2, 11-8, 11-5.

Now, Hamza is to face Jooyoung, Huzaifa is up against Sohail, and Abdullah will be playing against Nikhileswar in the finals on Saturday (today).
