Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori inaugurated the 1,294th annual Urs of Abdullah Shah Ghazi on Thursday at the shrine of the famous Sufi Saint in Clifton near Karachi’s coastline.
The governor offered prayers for the progress and development of Pakistan and for resolving the country’s challenges. Speaking to the media, Tessori expressed hope that his prayers for the economic prosperity of the nation would be answered. He optimistically anticipated Pakistan’s imminent achievement of economic self-reliance.
Tessori highlighted that the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community had chosen to spend the sacred days of Muharram in Karachi, despite receiving invitations from five other countries. He mentioned extending an invitation to the Dawoodi Bohra community leader himself, expressing satisfaction upon its acceptance.
He noted that the visit of the Dawoodi Bohra community leader would attract 50,000 visitors to Karachi, stimulating substantial economic activity in the city. He informed the media that during his recent three-day stay in Islamabad, he engaged with members of the diplomatic corps to encourage investment in Pakistan. Tessori revealed receiving assurances from the Turkish and UAE ambassadors regarding their countries’ interest in investing in Pakistan. He also mentioned the readiness of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and other Islamic countries to contribute economically.
