Bannu police repulse terrorist attack
BANNU: The police repulsed a terrorist attack on Miryan Police Station in Bannu on Wednesday night, forcing the terrorists to flee the area, sources said on Thursday.
They said that dozens of terrorists stormed the Miryan Police Station at night. However, the policemen effectively retaliated with thermal guns.The exchange of fire continued for some time but the terrorists later fled the area. No loss of life was reported in the attack.
Regional Police Officer Imran Shahid said that the police bravely repulsed the terrorists attack and forced them to flee the scene in the dark of night.He said that the police were more resilient, capable and equipped with modern gadgets to fight back the attackers.The attack created panic in the area and the locals expressed their dismay over the resurgence of militancy.
