LAHORE: Cadet Afaq Mashwani of the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul has, in a proud moment for Pakistan, been awarded the distinguished Major General Finley Award-2024 at the Royal Military College of Australia.
This prestigious honour was conferred upon him in recognition of his outstanding performance during the passing out parade ceremony.
Afaq Mashwani, a graduate of the 147th PMA Long Course, hails from Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
His achievement marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time in Pakistani history that a cadet has won this esteemed award at the Royal Military College of Australia.
Reflecting on his journey, Cadet Afaq Mashwani attributed his success to the rigorous training and values instilled in him during his initial months at PMA. He expressed gratitude for the hard work and dedication required to achieve such a high level of excellence.
“A lot was learned in the initial months of PMA training along with hard work and dedication,” Afaq Mashwani said, acknowledging the role of his alma mater in shaping his military career.
