A man who sustained injuries in a shooting during a mugging attempt in the Korangi area passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital on Wednesday.
This incident brings the total number of fatalities due to robbers’ gunfire this year to 79. According to police reports, 34-year-old Zeeshan was shot by robbers during a robbery near Gareeb Nawaz Stop in District Korangi late on Monday night.
Following the incident, both suspects involved were apprehended after a police encounter. Authorities recovered weapons and Zeeshan’s snatched mobile phone from the suspects. The deceased man was employed at a boutique and was scheduled to be married in a few months.
Zeeshan and his brother were seated outside their residence after returning from work when two robbers suddenly arrived and seized their mobile phones. In the ensuing struggle, the robbers opened fire, fatally wounding Zeeshan. Although his brother Mansoor managed to apprehend one robber, the other escaped. Local residents intervened, subduing and handing over the captured robber to the police after administering a beating.
