MARDAN: Former deputy speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Ikramullah Shahid passed away after prolonged illness.
His funeral prayer was offered at Sher Shah Town Kass Koroona on Tuesday night at10pm. People belonging to all walks of life attended his funeral prayer. Ikramullah Shahid was born on June 12, 1949 in a religious family of Kaskoroona. His father late Maulana Madarullah Madarar actively participated in the Pakistan Movement. Ikramullah Shahid received his MA in Pakistan Studies from University of Peshawar, LLB from University of Karachi and MPhil in Iqbaliyat from Allama Iqbal Open University.
He was a PhD scholar of Allama Iqbal Open University. Hecontinued his research, writing and compilation. He was a researcher and writer and authored several books on various topics.
He also remained chairman of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA). Hewas a senior member of District Bar Association Mardan. Hewas the father of the secretary to Chief Justice Supreme Court Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Professor Jawad Ahmad of King Fahd University Saudi Arabia and Iftikhar Ahmad Farooq.
He was the brother of Kaleemullah Amjad, former president of Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was cousin of Lutfullah Lutaf, former president of Mardan Press Club and uncle of Shahid Bacha, Area Manager Habib Bank. His Qul would be held at Gulberg Town (Kas Korona) in Mardan on Friday.
