Operation to expose KP, Balochistan to hardship: Omar
Omar said PTI was the only party which had held intra-party elections thrice in one-and-a-half years
ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Tuesday said any operation against the people of Pakistan won’t be acceptable, as they had already sacrificed much.
Talking to journalists outside the Election Commission of Pakistan here, he said the operation was an attempt to force the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to face hardships.
About the party’s intra-party elections, Omar said PTI was the only party which had held intra-party elections thrice in one-and-a-half years, whereas Awami National Party (ANP) had been fined Rs20,000 for not fulfilling this legal requirement.
“Two laws will not be allowed to work in one country,” he made it clear.
Speaking to the reporters outside the Parliament House, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said during the special session of the budget, they walked out of the Parliament to the Election Commission.
“A walk was held for the release of ‘our sisters, including Khan Sahib and Bushra Bibi. Re-arresting our sisters once they were released is a violation of human rights; protests will continue until our people are released. This is not just a walk of 180 parliamentarians but a walk of three crore voters,” he noted.
He said in order to protect the rights of the people, they opposed the military operation adding that whatever be the decision, this issue should be brought to the House (Parliament) but the government was hesitant to do so.
He said there was no rule of law and no investment in the country, while China had warned that the CPEC projects were in jeopardy due to the security situation in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Rehana Dar said not only Pakistanis but expatriates also had an eye on her constituency, where she defeated Khawaja Asif badly. “If Khawaja Asif brings his Form 45, the whole world will know the difference between the reals and fakes,” she maintained. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Sunni Ittehad Council Parliamentary Party held a meeting here. According to Omar Ayub, all the successful candidates as per Form 45 were called in the parliamentary session and 172 members participated in the meeting, which he chaired. He said Rehana Dar, Seemabiya Tahir and party candidates from across the country participated in the meeting while Shaukat Basra, Asjad Malhi, Ali Ijaz Batar, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Amir Mughal and Ali Bukhari took part in the parliamentary party meeting.
