HASCOL National Ranking Tennis begins
KARACHI: Eight players qualified for the main round of the inaugural HASCOL National Ranking Tennis Championships that commenced on Sunday at PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.
On the opening day, 24 men’s singles qualifying round matches were played. Saqib Umer beat Kashif Khan 6-1, 6-3; Usman Ejaz beat Shakirullah 6-0, 6-0; Nofil Kaleem beat Rashid Khan 6-1, 6-2; Raja Shahid beat Asadullah 6-3, 6-2; Ilham Khan beat Musa Chaudhry 6-0, 6-0; Yousaf Khan beat Nadir Bhachani 6-1, 6-1; Huzaifa Abdul Rehman beat Husnain Mehmood and Hamza bin Asif beat Farhan Ahmed 6-0, 6-0.
The organisers received 150 entries for various events in this Grade-1 tournament of the national circuit which carries prize purse of Rs0.5 million.
The top players who have confirmed their participation are Aqeel Khan, Sara Mansoor, Ushna Suhail, Muhammad Abid, Sarah Mahboob Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Haris Irfan ul Haq, Shoaib Khan and Aqib Khan.
