‘Strict monitoring system being devised to prevent illegal constructions’

LAHORE: LDA Director General Tahir Farooq said that a strict monitoring process is being devised to prevent illegal constructions in the city. He said illegal constructions were strictly monitored during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

LDA teams, on the direction of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, conducted flag marches against illegal constructions on important highways during weekends and Eid holidays. LDA Town Planning and Enforcement Squad checked the under construction properties.

LDA teams visited Jubilee Town, Pine Avenue, Defence Road, College Road, Wapda Town, Main Boulevard Gulbarg, Liberty, Noor Jahan Road, MM Alam Road, Iqbal Town, Model Town, Pecor Road, Nasheman Iqbal, Valencia Town, Engineering Town, Sabzazar and various societies.

Director C&I Kaleem Yusuf, Director Town Planning Sidra Tabassam led the flag marches. LDA Enforcement Squad and Town Planning Wing, on the third day of Eid, visited Main Boulevard Gulbarg, Jail Road, and monitoring visits were also made on Ferozepur Road and Kacha Jail Road.

Teams also conducted field monitoring around Madar-e-Millat Road, Abdullah Isfahani Road, Faisal Town, Johar Town and Multan Road. They also made a field visit around Ravi Main Boulevard.

The officers and staff of the Town Planning Wing conducted surveillance in different areas under the supervision of Chief Town Planner One Asad Zaman and checked the under construction buildings as per SOPs.
