LAHORE: IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar offered Eid-ul-Azha prayer with the police force at District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh. Retired and serving senior police officers and personnel were also present. IG paid tribute at the Martyrs' Memorial, laid a wreath, and offered prayers for the departed souls of the martyrs.
IG also visited Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) where reviewed Eid security measures and visited the Virtual Women Police Station and Emergency 15 Centre.
Meanwhile, IG visited Tahafuz Manzil Foster Home, celebrating Eid with orphaned children. Later, he inspected facilities and praised the home for reuniting the lost children with their families. He also visited Bhobatian police flats, where he met officers and families, recognising their sacrifices. He directed the officials concerned to improve the amenities there. Lastly, he visited Zille Shah's family, offering Eid greetings and support to them.
On the second day of Eid, Punjab police organised a special event at Tahafuz Darsgah Jallo, attended by IG and other dignitaries. Tahafuz Darsgah is a pioneering welfare initiative for destitute transgender children, providing them shelter, food, and education.
