Sindh Senior Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has presented a historical and people-friendliest budget of his government for the new financial year.

He stated this on Friday while talking to media persons soon after the budget session of the provincial assembly. He claimed that new budget contained measures to extend the maximum relief to the masses. He said the government had been constructing one of the largest housing initiatives in the world for providing accommodation facilities to the flood victims in the province. He said the government would build 2.1 million houses for the flood victims.

Memon said the new provincial budget contained solar energy initiatives to electrify a number of villages in the province. He said the solar energy project of the government aimed at providing cheap electricity to the less-privileged power consumers.

He said special relief measures contained in the new budget were aimed at the people belonging to the salaried class, keeping in view the prevailing economic conditions. He said the budget contained special allocations for the development schemes to be built in Karachi.

The information minister stated that the government had completed a record number of development initiatives in the health sector, and it would launch a card for the farmers as a revolutionary step to provide due relief to the under-privileged growers in Sindh. Memon said that earlier the Sindh government had launched a similar card to provide relief to the labourers.

He was of the view that the people of Sindh pinned their hopes on the Pakistan Peoples Party. He said the new provincial budget had taken care of the interest of the people in the best possible manner. He said that serving the people was the top priority of the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Memon claimed that the government had presented a better budget as compared to other provincial budgets.
