PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday expressed annoyance over the non-recovery of the four brothers, who were kidnapped from Hayatabad.

A single bench of Justice Ejaz Anwar heard the petition filed for the recovery of the four persons. Mohammad Nadir Shah Advocate appeared for the petitioner.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advocate General Shah Faisal Utmankhel, Additional Attorney General Sanaullah and Additional Chief Secretary Home Abid Majeed also appeared in the court.

The footage showing the kidnapping incident was also played in the courtroom. The advocate general told the court that 11 people were nominated in the first information report (FIR) of the incident.

Justice Ejaz Anwar said the family of the kidnapped persons had started receiving notices from the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to prove their Pakistani nationality. He said the police picked up people but its senior officials did not know about it. Justice Ejaz Anwar said that initially the police did not register their FIR, adding that it seemed from the CCTV footage that the police had carried out this action.

He asked whether the inspector general of police, capital city police officer and the station house officer concerned did not know about it. Justice Ejaz Anwar said many businesspeople had already left the province. He said that action should be taken against the ones, who had committed some crime. The advocate general told the court that if Nadra had issued the notices, then the provincial government had nothing to do with the issue.

The father of the kidnapped persons requested the court to help recover his sons. The court directed the officials to recover the kidnapped persons at the earliest and adjourned the hearing till July 8.
