Islamabad: Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, led a meeting to finalise arrangements for Eidul Azha. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, senior officers of CDA, ICT, and Islamabad Police.
The deputy commissioner Islamabad will supervise all the arrangements for Eidul Azha. A control room has been set up in Islamabad Safe City to monitor the special operation during Eidul Azha under the supervision of DIG operations and the deputy commissioner.
Special security arrangements have been made at mosques, Imambargahs, markets, important buildings, and public places as per the directions of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The meeting announced that the leaves of officers and officials of the Sanitation Directorate have been cancelled to ensure the success of the special cleanliness operation.
Assistant Commissioners will also supervise this operation, with more than 2,500 personnel participating in the cleaning task. The meeting also discussed the use of over 200 vehicles, including tractor trolleys, garbage compactors, scoop lifters, truck dumpers, front loaders, and dozers with shovels for the operation.
The city has been divided into five zones to ensure cleanliness. Each zone will be supervised by a chief sanitary inspector, while sanitary inspectors and supervisors will work in their respective sectors. Special steps have been taken to collect and dispose of remains of sacrificial animals from the rural areas of Islamabad.
More than 103 ditches have been dug at 56 different locations for this purpose, and biodegradable bags are being distributed for free in urban and rural areas to dispose of animal waste on Eidul Azha.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the Sanitation staff and to place waste and remains of the sacrificial animals at designated places. They have also been asked not to discard animal waste in inappropriate places, and warned of legal action for violations.
Additionally, a central control room has been set up in Islamabad Safe City Sector H-11 to monitor the operation during Eidul Azha, and two emergency centres have been established. Citizens can contact the sanitation helpline number 1334 or the provided telephone numbers for garbage collection.
CDA chairman and chief commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasised that achieving the desired results is only possible with the citizens' cooperation and compliance with the given instructions.
