Elevation of judges to SC: JCP asked to make public its proceedings

On June 07, Commission recommended the elevation of chief justices of LHC and SHC to the SC besides recommending the elevation of a judge of LHC

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) was Thursday requested to make public its June 7 proceedings, recommending the elevation of three Lahore High Court (LHC) judges to the Supreme Court.

In a letter, Mian Dawood Advocate has requested Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Chairman of the Commission, to make public the June 7 proceedings, as it was the right of the public to know as to how the elevation of these judges was recommended. He has also sent copies of his letter to the other members of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

On June 07, Commission recommended the elevation of chief justices of Lahore High Court (LHC) and Sindh High Court (SHC) to the Supreme Court besides recommending the elevation of a judge of Lahore High Court.

The Commission recommended the elevation of Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan and Sindh High Court Chief Justice Aqeel Abbasi as the Supreme Court judges besides recommending the elevation of Justice LHC judge Shahid Bilal to the Supreme Court.
