LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Saturday welcomed inauguration of CASA-1000 and expressed the hope that the government would use its influence for completion of this mega project within the given timeframe, a statement said.
LCCI President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that it is a giant leap towards fulfilling the rising gap between the energy demand and supply.
The LCCI president said that CASA-1000 would not only be beneficial for Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, but would also pave the way for more collaboration between the Central Asian States and South Asia.
He said that indigenous resources like sun and wind should be used continuously to overcome the energy crisis and reduce dependence on imported fuel.
