The gunshot bodies of a woman and her teenage son were found in their house in Orangi Town on Tuesday.
Upon receiving the information, the police and rescuers arrived at the house in Altaf Nagar and transported the casualties to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased were later identified as 30-year-old Tania, wife of Qurban Ali, and her 13-year-old son, Muhammad Khan.
Sharing the findings of the initial investigations, the police suspected that Tania first shot and killed her son and then ended her own life. The motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.
The police recorded the statement of the deceased woman’s husband, who stated that his wife committed suicide after shooting their son for unexplained reasons.
The police reported that the weapon used in the incident had been recovered and sent to the forensic division. No case has been registered yet.
