OGDCL clinch President’s Trophy Grade-II title
LAHORE: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) emerged victorious in the President’s Trophy Grade-II final, defeating Eshaal Associates by a convincing nine-wicket margin.
This triumph secures their place in the prestigious President’s Trophy Grade-I tournament for the upcoming domestic season.
OGDCL’s hero of the match was Raja Hamza Waheed. His unbeaten knock of 143 runs, compiled in just 159 balls, steered his team to victory. His innings showcased both power and finesse, with 22 boundaries and 2 sixes. OGDCL began day four with a strong opening partnership between Raja Hamza Waheed and Abbas Ali.
Their 135-run stand set the tone for a dominant chase. While Ali fell after a well-made 51, Waheed continued his onslaught, finding able support from Mohammad Umair (51*).
Their 120-run partnership for the second wicket ensured OGDCL chased down the target of 255 runs with ease, reaching the victory mark in just 50.3 overs.
OGDCL also earned a cash prize of PKR 1.5 million. Eshaal Associates received PKR 0.75 million.
