LAHORE: A delegation of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sahiwal called on Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain.
The delegation was led by president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Humaira Bukhari. During the meeting, the problems faced by women investors were discussed.
Talking to the delegation, the minister said that women investors in Punjab have the best opportunities for economic activities.
The government will introduce a new programme with the collaboration of Punjab Bank to provide soft loans to women investors. Women investors can also benefit from the Punjab Rozgar Scheme. He said that women would be given a suitable platform to showcase their products, for this purpose, commercial attachés and business-to-business meetings would be arranged in different countries.
The provincial minister said that the government would provide full support to women investors for business activities. Women investors will come forward in livestock, fish farming and agriculture sectors. He said that a business facilitation centre would be set up in Sahiwal.
The president of the Women's Chamber demanded the government support, saying that they would do the investment. If women investors get better opportunities, they can make a name in the business world. The delegation demanded the provision of interest-free loans for business activities.
Chairman PIEDMC Javed Iqbal, Punjab Investment Board CEO Jalal Hassan, PSIC MD Sidra Younis, Additional Secretary Commerce and other relevant officers were also present in the meeting.
